After my appointment with Dr Simon I have excellent news.
Firstly, I do not have gestational diabetes.... Yey it is such a relief. I didn't realise how worried about it I was until after he had told me that I didn't have it.
Secondly, my iron levels are fine. Those pregnancy vitamin tablets must be doing their job as I've hardly had any red meat in ages so I'm not getting much in the way of iron from that source.
Thirdly, I told him about the weird heart beat thing and he confirmed what I thought about the reason. An extra 40% in the way of blood and the other organs moving up. He was not concerned in the slightest and said that it was pretty common, especially in pregnancy.
As for Ernie we heard her heart beating, and a very nice little heart beat it is too. I'm also measuring a week ahead with the size of my uterus. I don't know that it means anything much other than she is obviously growing well. It would also explain why today I have felt like I have had indigestion all day sitting just under my breasts. It's so uncomfortable but it's perfectly understandable when she is growing so much she is taking up more and more room in there.
The best news was that I convinced him to give me a request form for an ultrasound earlier than the 34 weeks than he had planned so that I can go and have a 3D image of our little Miss. He wasn't that keen I have to admit but I got my way in the end, so I am happy. I'm so excited. I'll make the appointment tomorrow and hopefully there will not be a big long waiting time.
Finally, we now go to visits with him every 2 weeks instead of the 5 weeks that it was up until now. It really does mean that we are getting closer. I think that I will be totally freaking out by the time it goes to weekly visits at the 36 week mark. There really will be no turning back then - actually I don't think there is any turning back now. (But it isn't as if you all don't know that I wouldn't have it any other way.)
